She hunts, fishes, loves babies (and bears them), knows sports, is smart, educated, witty, wears skirts and looks good, too.

I think I'm in love.

Mother Into Living Fully? I'm glad you clarified that Gino. :)

This is an interesting move on the Republican's part. I honestly thought the Dem's had it all sealed up with Obama.

I do find it disturbing, though, with both parties... that the seem to have picked their running mates to counteract the public opinion polls. Obama looked like he had too little experience (so add Biden to the ticket) and McCain seemed to only represent older white males... so he adds Palin. It just comes across to me like such a game of... catering to thoughtless talking points... appealing to the lowest common denominator... pretty photo ops to get people to vote for them based on a carefully crafted facade.

(And on that note, I'll fully admit the first thing I thought when I saw Palin's photo was "wow... she looks nice")

To paraphrase Craig Ferguson, she's kinda got that sexy librarian thing going for her...

Wait, where was I? Oh, yes: now at least someone between the two tickets has experience setting up an administration, making appointments, and dealing with the legislative branch from outside!

She bares babies? Isn't that illegal?

I'd never heard of her, but I'm pretty excited for her pick. I was hoping he'd pick Hutchison, but it seems this might have been a smarter move for many reasons.

I like her, but I think the pick is cynical pandering in reaction to "the women" who are having a hissy fit over Hillary. Once the democrat women who are all hormonal notice the pro-life, NRA, teach creationism in school person, it flops. Condoleeza Rice, John. Condoleeza fucking Rice!

idiot...

My comment is backing up what Jade said. I have to start reading the comments before I open my yap.

isnt that what politics is anyway?
a full 1/4 votes according to personality. you need them to win.

RW: but you said it differently.

whall: i pretty excited too. not that i think it'll make a damn's bit a difference as to the future of the nation.
only that she will be so nice to see on tv for next 4 yrs.

i'm a sexist male.
yeah, so what?

I am excited about the pick for two reasons.
1) She's a legit conservative and that's important to me.
2) Picking her showed that McCain is pretty savvy.

People are going to criticize this pick for being cynical. Hogwash. It was intentional. Cynical would have been picking someone solely on their chromosomes. This pick goes well beyond that. I think the base likes Palin more than they do McCain and that is because of issues.

I am glad JMC picked her because she is honest, hard to corrupt, hardnose and 80% of Alaskans agree that she rocks. Getting Alaskans to agree on anything is amazing.

Too bad it's not her as Prez, Fred Thompson and/or Ron Paul VP.

I'm in love too, but I'll have to hold out for Condi if I want belivable fantasy action.
