Saturday morning.
3:30 A.M.
On my way to work, while minding my own damn business, some
dude jerk asswipe shit-for-brains driving a flatbed tow truck backed out of an ally directly in front of me. Not giving me nearly enough time to stop,(or swerve, as he was still moving backwards), I braked best I could. The wheels came to a nice pleasant stop, and the car
continued to slide forward. The road was covered in a fresh rain, and the accumulated oil deposits were all that stood in the way of a successful 'save'.
Fortunately, I got the "Good Hands" people on the case.

Cripes, at least you're OK. You are OK aren't you?
me? OK?
i'll leave that judgement up to the other bloggers.
but at least i'm not hurt. :)
i was home within 45 min, called a buddy, and he picked me up for work.(we work together, but i start a couple hours ahead of schedule)
Glad you are OK.
Flatbeds scare the hell out of me. They are often just the right height for a swift decapitation. This might be why I like cars that ride high (current vehicle is a Jeep Wrangler.)
Looks like yours was riding really low, though...
It seems to me that you should have installed a plus-size "flubber" bumper. But now you know and knowing is half the battle.
(Glad you're okay)
Bummer.
Sorry to hear that.
Best to
Relax, kick back and chill out
laters
Chills.
Damn, I'm sorry about that. Very weird though... I had an odd dream about a flatbed truck last night... but the car that ran into it was a red sports car with white rally stripes (I want to say it was late 60's but I couldn't distinguish the model... possibly Camero or Mustang?) I hope you get your car fixed soon, and that you are doing OK.
Gino, thats clever. Bend the license plate like that so we can't do a search on your tags... brilliant.
brian: its a santa fe. not as low as the standard car. but not as high as a wrangler. the 'bed' of the truck sliced through the grill, as opposed to a little higher.
ben: a flubber bumper? yeah, maybe i'll buy that option next time. with a flubber motor, too (like chitty chitty)
chills: thanks
jade:you sure it wasnt a white santa fe with black running boards and sun roof?
palm boy: the tow did that. convenient though.
Geez, second blogger friend this week to get in an accident. It's a pain to deal with, I guess you just keep reminding yourself that you're okay.
On my morning commute today I also had an accident. I tripped over the dog on the way from my bedroom to my downsstairs office.
Glad you o.k. though.
Gino - the car had a sunroof of some kind, but it was absolutely a sports car red with white rally stripes - and smoke came out of it when it hit. But you weren't the driver either, that I can tell.
Good luck getting everything fixed!
