"Don't Let The Bastards Get You Down."

My first job was at the Oregon Zoo just outside of Portland... I worked in the little food carts outside mostly selling popcorn and sodas. Occasionally I'd get stuck down in the frozen lemonade stand in the Africa exhibit - the only station that was, by design, a one man show.
So it was boring.
To entertain myself I would open a little bag of these iced animal cookies and line them up on the shelf behind the counter in a little circus train.
I think of that every time I see those cookies.
I can still smell the frozen lemonade syrup.
