I Told You So...

I had said that the Mainstream Media would get around to tying Willard with an element of Mormonism's unsavory past.

And it didn't take long for my prediction to come around.
From ABC News:LINK

Damn near every Mormon with a deep family history within the faith has a polygamist grandfather somewhere. There is no news in this news article. It's reason for publishing is solely for the purpose of publicly embarrassing Willard.

The hypocrisy here, at least in my eyes, is that the same media made a plethora of excuses to cover Bill Clinton's marital indiscretions while in the Oval Office.

Willard has already publicly condemned polygamy.
And he still has only had one wife. And no known indiscretions.

The question: Why must a Mormon publically condemn a past practice of his faith that he does not employ, while a 'pass' is given to others who discard marriages, or routinely disregard the promises made within their own.

lol @ brian.

Romeny is just undergoing a character assination here. I think he'll survive.

If his Mormonism didn't hurt him in Massachusetts, which is overwhelmingly Catholic (and parochial Irish catholic at that), then I think he'll do okay nationally.

He's got a great line that manages to poke fun at his mormonism, as well as make a point on gay marriage too;

"I believe marriage should be between a man and a woman, and a woman, and a woman..."

Pretty clever, even if you disagree with him on the issue.

Mitt's going to do better than people are giving him credit for right now. He's pretty quick on his feet, he's a fresh face compared to McCain, and Guiliani (who I'd want) looks like the kind of candidate who can't get out of the primaries. And with all due respect to Duncan Hunter and Mike Huckabee et al, he's the conservative with money and momentum.
