Taking a Cue from Kal...

You Are a "Don't Tread On Me" Libertarian

You distrust the government, are fiercely independent, and don't belong in either party.
Religion and politics should never mix, in your opinion... and you feel opressed by both.
You don't want the government to cramp your self made style. Or anyone else's for that matter.
You're proud to say that you're pro-choice on absolutely everything!

These test are kinda fun, and in this case, I'd say reasonably accurate. Although putting me in a catagory of Libertarian may be a little off base since I havent smoked a joint in what.. 19yrs I think. Also, on this test the questions leave out the details.

The statement: "Religion and politics should never mix" is so far off the mark because it is an impossibilty. Maybe if they said "Church" instead of "religion" it would be more fitting. Political convictions are religiously held if they are to be convictions at all.

Just re-did it and got capitalist republican. I can live with that.

i'm almost insulted by the thing telling me i'm prochoice on everything.
'choice' in our pol-speak refers to abortion.

for the record:
i am 100% prolife, anti abortion, at any time, for any reason, from the moment of conception. and i want my govt to reflect that.
and anybody who disagrees with me is flat-out-evil-wrong.
so there!!!!

Hmm.... Well, I do have horns, so I guess evil works for me.

I'm actually a libertarian, without the balls. I think we need a little bit of government to straighten out the occassional human stupidity - but generally I don't abide The Man telling you what to do, which is why I'm pro-choice, even while I personally hate abortion, as it represents to me a failure of a person to take responsibility for their actions.

So yeah, I'm a big squish.

(Oh, and I'm sure this'll drive you crazy -- I'm also against the death penalty because I don't believe in giving govt. that amount of power... Yeah, yeah, I know...)

so, abortion is like being fat?
a sign a irresponsibility, and not much more?

Well, no, of course not.

I hate it. I hate the idea of it, I hate how it's done, I hate that some folks turn it from a personal tragedy into a political thing (not you, I'm talking more the pro-choice folks) -- but I hate more the idea of a government big enough to regulate every bit of your lives.

And, pragmatically speaking, banning would do little good. There have been abortions since tim immemorial, and a law written on paper isn't going to stop it.

I think we have to separate telling people "no" from working with people to make sure they're making healthy choices.

Like, if you're not ready to have a kid -- don't have sex. It's not impossible, and there are plenty of other ways to have fun. But in the culture in which we live, it's so hard to find positive role models.

That goodness we have you, old man!!

(Just yanking your crank because you said I was too young to remember the 80's properly... How old do you think I am?)

yer bout 36,arent ya?

you talk like a libertarian, what with govt regulating our lives,etc... you clearly believe in the freedom of the individual:life, liberty, pursiut,etc...

but what of the lives of the unborn?
you disregard their liberty as if they are not as endowed at their creation as you were.

you cant believe in the creator endowed right to life for yourself, and deny it to others, and still claim to believe the right is creator endowed without being a hypocrite.
by these actions, you have declared, in practice, that rights flow not from a higher source, but through the whim of govt. this makes them privilages, not rights.

it also makes you a socialist, separated from the communists only by a matter of degrees.

true: abortions have always happened, and always will.
so has rape,robbery,murder,terror,theft, etc.
laws on paper do not stop them, either. but enforcment does indeed limit their occurance.

As a full-on yellow-dog libertarian I will just come out and say that I think abortion is completely wrong. I think it's bad for society in general to have a low opinion of life. So I have a pragmatic look at it I suppose. I also believe that Roe v. Wade is just bad law decided in the fashion of all bad laws.

Let me get this straight. If I am pregnant I have to maintain
the life of the human life with in me...at my own expense, have to curb
my own behaviors to insure the health and survival of life within
but if I make the choice to abort and save myself the expense of
of supporting that life..and curbing my own lifestyle choices
I am doing something
morally wrong because I am taking alife..
But I am not responsible for the life of some kid down the street or
on the other side of the planet, If my lifestyle choices and standard of
living etc preclude that life from survival it is ok cause I didnt take
a life,

That is a question.

lol @ these quizzes. I also got "libertarian." While I don't distrust religion (love it, in fact), I am pro-choice about pretty much everything.

As far as abortion goes, I wish we could even have the conversation without getting into slut-shaming... these discussions always focus so much on blaming WOMEN. And asking about the fetus' life obviously won't have much pull with anyone who doesn't think it's a one hundred percent human being the instant sperm and egg combine.

I always turn out to be Libertarian as well. One of them I took called me a Totalitarian. Scary.

law fairy

I am anti-abortion (moment of conception, so Plan B and IUDs are abortifacients) and generally feminist

I definitely don't get off on slut-shaming

don't know that this is the correct forum(!), but sometime I'll try to take you up on that conversation. It's gone 'round a couple of times at Andy's in the last year, but arguing it with gay men is a little abstract ; ).
