See, when normal people make mistakes and attempt to learn from them, when they adapt their perceptions, beliefs and actions to new information and improved understanding, we call that "developing as a human being". When a public figure does it, we call it "cowardice".
Yes, that makes sense.
The Iraq adventure started to go wrong the moment the Powell Doctrine was ignored. The Bush people still can't explain what "victory" is supposed to look like, and I doubt they could tell us even now.
The rest of Powell's statement on Meet The Press - regarding Muslims - is an ultimate form of courage in this climate.
